Honorary President: Mei Sim Lai OBE DL

Of Malaysian Chinese origin and living in the UK since 1970, to describe Mei Sim as a high achiever would not do her justice. Alongside her work as the Founder and Principal of LaiPeters & Co, Chartered Accountants , Mei holds and has held several Board appointments in the Public, Private and Not for Profit and Charity sectors.

She is also very active in a number of UK and international business groups including running IoD City since 1991 and chairing its China Interest group, serving as Honorary Treasurer and Executive member of the influential 48 Group Club and serving as the Finance Director of Arab international Women's Forum. Mei Sim is also a Founder Charter member of PAWA (Pan Asian Women's Association).

Mei Sim is currently a Non Executive Director of International Women of Excellence. She was Chairman of City Women' Network from 1988 to 1990 and from 2009 to 2011 she chaired IWF UK, the Top women's group in the UK for eminent women of outstanding achievement. IWF UK is part of IWF which has a membership of over 4,000 women leaders from around the world. In August 2014, IWF was recognised for its work by being granted Special Consultative status by the UN.

Mei Sim is on the Court of the Worshipful Company of Horners, a Past President of the City Livery Club and in 2011 she was elected the Master of The Worshipful Company of World traders, the first Chinese person to ever hold the office of Master of a Livery Company in the very long history of the City of London.

She is a winner of several awards including The International Women of Alliance 100 Women who make a difference to the World and the Asian Women of Achievement Awards for Public Service. Mei Sim is also greatly honoured to be appointed one of Her Majesty The Queen's representatives in Greater London in 2006. Since 2007 she has been the Representative Deputy Lieutenant for London Borough of Brent.

In 2004, Mei Sim was appointed OBE for services to Equal Opportunities.
